Nature, Linear or Signal: Choosing a Laser-Cut Aluminum Privacy Screen Pattern

A laser cut aluminum privacy screen gets its look from the pattern. Every PrivacyPlus+ panel and gate is laser-cut aluminum, powder-coated black, and every panel comes in the same two sizes. What changes is the pattern, and the pattern decides two things: how much it hides and how it looks from your chair. Here's how to choose between Nature, Linear and Signal.

The Short Answer: Privacy Ranking

Signal gives the most privacy, then Linear, then Nature.

Pattern Look Privacy (of the three) Good for
Signal Rows of short dashes and dots Most private Close neighbors, hot tubs, hiding equipment
Linear Solid black face with thin horizontal lines Middle Clean, minimal decks and patios
Nature Irregular, staggered horizontal cutouts Least private A lighter, organic look; screening without a wall feel

All three come in 36" x 68" and 24" x 68" panels and in matching 36" x 68" and 48" x 68" gates.

Signal: The Most Private

Signal covers the panel in rows of short dashes and dots, for a tidy, geometric texture. It's the pattern to start with when a neighbor's window, deck or patio is close, or when you're screening a hot tub. It's also the best choice for hiding pool equipment or trash bins you never want to see.

Choose Signal for: a hot tub privacy screen, a pool equipment screen, or a deck that faces a close neighbor.

Linear: Clean and Minimal

Linear is a solid black face with thin, straight horizontal lines. It's the most minimal of the three and reads as a modern architectural wall. If you like the look of a horizontal slat privacy screen but want something cleaner, Linear gives you those horizontal lines with a solid face.

Linear pattern privacy panels installed beside a patio

Choose Linear for: a modern deck privacy screen or a patio wall where you want privacy and a quiet look.

Nature: Organic and Light

Nature has irregular, staggered horizontal cutouts with an organic, natural feel. It's the least private of the three, which is the point: it softens a view instead of walling it off. It works well where you want decorative metal privacy panels that still let some of the yard show through.

Choose Nature for: a patio privacy screen beside a garden, or a screen where the look matters as much as the privacy.

Four Questions to Help You Decide

  1. How close is the view you're blocking? The closer the neighbor, the more you'll want Signal.
  2. Where will you see it from? You'll look at the screen from a few feet away, so pick a pattern you like up close.
  3. What's the rest of the space like? Linear suits clean, modern lines. Nature suits gardens and softer landscaping.
  4. Do you need a gate? Gates are laser-cut in all three patterns too, so the run looks like one piece. See privacy gates.

Can I Mix Patterns?

Every pattern comes in both panel sizes, so you can keep one pattern across a whole run, which is the cleanest look. Some homeowners use Signal where privacy matters most and another pattern elsewhere. Talk it through with the showroom team or your contractor.

Same Laser-Cut Build in Every Pattern

Whatever you choose, the panel is the same underneath: laser-cut 6063-T6 aluminum, a commercial-grade structural aluminum, powder-coated black. It won't rot, warp or decay, and it never needs painting, staining or sealing. Posts, brackets and powder-coated stainless steel fasteners are sold separately.
